Over the last 10 months, The Housing Finance Corporation (THFC), has recruited two highly-skilled individuals to join its Relationship Management Team.

In September of last year, THFC was delighted to welcome Gavin Richards.

Gavin came to THFC from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), where he held the role Director of Portfolio Management.

At RBS, Gavin spent much of his career in customer facing roles, dealing extensively with large national, small local mixed funded housing associations (HAs) and Large Scale Voluntary Transfer organisations. Gavin has a long history within corporate banking, enjoying more than 20 years of front line experience, assuming responsibility for new funding and restructures of existing terms, including helping customers move to the capital markets for the first time.

Piers Williamson, THFC’s Chief Executive, said: “Gavin has become an integral member of the team and works closely with HAs of all sizes to allow the provision of long-term funding. His extensive background in banking gives him an invaluable ability to secure HA’s the best possible deal.”

THFC is also pleased to announce that Alex Bowden will join its organisation in early July.

Alex comes to THFC from BPHA, an established HA, which owns and manages more than 18,000 homes across the Home Counties. At BPHA Alex was Corporate Finance Manager, a role which he held since 2014.

Prior to this, Alex gained extensive credit and risk experience, as well as knowledge of legal due diligence, treasury and capital at Nationwide Building Society.

Alex is both a treasurer and a banker, with experience in structuring funding to the social housing sector, and management of commercial and treasury operations.

Piers Williamson said:

“Alex brings a wealth of corporate and sector-specific experience to THFC. We believe that his experience of corporate finance within a leading housing association in the South East is particularly valuable.”

Gavin’s and Alex’s appointments bring THFC’s existing Relationship Management Team up to four highly experienced professionals covering THFC’s national portfolio of over 160 HAs.

THFC is keen to continue generating new business and strengthening existing services, with the benefit of these notable new additions to the relationship team.
